Community Health Worker Supervisor Training Series

Are you a new Community Health Worker supervisor?  Are you a Community Health Worker looking to advance your skills?  Perhaps you are creating a new Community Health Worker program in your agency, to respond to the changes stemming from health reform or the needs of your community?

The Community Health Worker Association of Rhode Island is excited to announce a new series of workshops, going on throughout 2015 geared towards you!  These workshops will cover the skills needed to be a successful supervisor of Community Health Workers, and fully understand the needs of the CHW workforce.  We will explore the definition of CHWs, learn to develop CHW programs and positions, hone our communication and supervisory skills, learn to best monitor and document CHW time and efforts, address current issues in the workforce, such as the impact of health reform, and much more! 

The cost for this supervisor training series (if taken in full) is $250 for nonmembers, $200 for members.  (For more information on membership and its benefits, please inquire by email.)  The workshops in the series can also be taken individually, at a cost of $50 for nonmembers, $40 for members.  Participants in the summer training series who have already taken the first session will also receive the member rate.  

Register today to learn more about the unique skills of supervising CHWs, and how YOU can be a successful CHW supervisor!  (Pre registration is required.)  It is not required that you take all the workshops in the Supervisor Series (although it is suggested!), but you will receive a certificate of completion for the series if you attend them all!  (There will be six in total.)
