Community Health Worker Certification

CHWARI offers certification through its class "Essential Skills for Community Health Workers":

Essential Skills for Community Health Workers is a ten session course, made up of weekly classes lasting three hours each.  Participants are required to complete all sessions, including the homework assignments.  Once the classwork is complete, participants will also engage in work experience (or document their CHW experience at their current employers).  The certification is provided by the Community Health Worker Association of RI, based on national skills standards and local needs, and is endorsed by the RI Department of Health.  Registration is $500 per participant, and includes all class materials, instruction, certification and ongoing guidance.  The class is ideal for newcomers to the CHW field or those interested in becoming CHWs, as well as experienced Community Health Workers already employed in the field.  For more information on the topics provided in the course, please email chwassociationri@gmail.com or send an inquiry using the link at the bottom of this page.
